FWACC seeking tips after puppy found in trash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) —The Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control (FWACC) is looking for information from the community after a puppy was found in a trash bin.

FWACC said a garbage truck driver found a four-month-old puppy in a crate inside a trash bin in the 200 block of East Masterson Ave. on March 20.

A veterinarian who examined the pup found that it had suffered multiple traumas, and is now blind as a result.

The FWACC said their officers immediately launched a full investigation to find the person or people responsible.

They said they have canvassed the area the puppy was found and are asking the public to call our department at 427-1244 or 449-3000 after 8 p.m. and on weekends with any information about this case.

The puppy was placed in a foster home to recover and is now available for adoption.
