FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with shooting that left a man in critical condition.
Fort Wayne’s NBC previously reported that police responded to the shooting in the 3000 block of Adams St. just after midnight on March 25.
When officers arrived, they found a man laying in the front yard of the house, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Detectives interviewed the victim several days later when he regained consciousness, who said he was sitting in his car when a dark SUV pulled up beside him.
He said the driver then pointed a gray handgun at him and began shooting. The victim said the man continued to fire shots as he ran away. Detectives asked if he knew the shooter, and he identified the man as Timothy Coats.
Then on Thursday, April 11, police located and arrested Coats in connection with the shooting.
Coats is preliminary charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
