Cool Monday, warmer week ahead

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (FORT WAYNE’S NBC) ▬ Tracking a cloudy and cool start to Monday. Clouds will clear out during the afternoon leaving us mostly sunny with a below average high of 54°F. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Clouds will increase again after sunset along with a few sprinkles of rain possible, especially for areas north of Fort Wayne and Allen County. Winds will also shift from the northwest to the southwest, helping our low stay out of the 30s with a low of 42°F.

We remain mostly cloudy Tuesday and Wednesday with a small chance of a stray shower. Temps rebound to near 70°F with southerly winds.

Thursday is looking more likely to be filled with thunderstorms and heavy rain. An inch of rain can’t be ruled out. With the ground already be saturated from recent rain, flooding could be an issue. The potential for strong to severe thunderstorms also exists, but we are still too far out. Fort Wayne’s NBC weather team will be tracking it closely.

Friday we get cooler with 60°F for a high and rain still possible.

Rain chances continue for Saturday with a high of 55°F.

Tracking warmer and drier conditions for Easter Sunday.
