Man jumps out of second story window to avoid police, arrested anyway

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Fort Wayne Police arrest several people during a drug bust Wednesday afternoon.

The FWPD Vice & Narcotics Division was working on tips and complaints that someone was dealing drugs at 747 ½ West Dewald Street.

Detectives were able to secure a warrant and raided the home Wednesday afternoon.

Inside, they found numerous people, including 29-year-old Terrance J. White.

Police say he jumped out of a second-story window to try to evade police, but their officers caught up with him after a short foot pursuit.

He was treated for his injuries from the jump.

White is now facing resisting arrest charges, and officers also arrested him on an outstanding warrant charge.

Patrick D. Manuel, 38, is facing possession of cocaine and possession of a synthetic drug or lookalike substance charges, as well as two other outstanding warrants.

Four other adults were taken into custody on various charges, from outstanding warrants to disorderly conduct.

After a search of the home, police found 2.4 grams of cocaine, 1 gram of heroin, 2.1 grams of marijuana, 16.3 grams of Spice, and other drug paraphernalia.

Police found a .38 caliber revolver as well.

The Department of Child Services was also called to the scene and assisted in the removal of a child from this situation.

This incident is still under investigation.
