Rain on New Year’s Eve ending late in the day

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – New Year’s Eve for Monday will come with rain showers. Rainfall totals will be around 1″ in some areas. Models do show the rain departing during the evening, so if you’re doing anything outside, it should be drying off by then. The chances for dry conditions increase the closer it gets to midnight. With the showers, it could still end up being the warmest day of the week. There will be a wide temperature range from north to south. It will get well into the 50s in our southern counties, but only low 40s are expected north.

The low into New Year’s Day will be right around the freezing mark of 32°. New Year’s Day could carry a few flurries, otherwise mostly cloudy skies and temperatures reaching into the mid 30s are expected.

The coolest day of the week will be Wednesday, the 2nd. Highs then will only be around 32°. More unseasonably warm weather will follow though. Highs look to be in the 40s again into the upcoming weekend.
