Fighting Irish team visits children’s hospital ahead of bowl game

DALLAS, Texas (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Part of what makes Notre Dame so special is what these guys do off the field.

Earlier Thursday afternoon, the Fighting Irish visited the Children’s Medical Center in Dallas to spread a little cheer this time of year.

After all the hubbub of this playoff week, it’s a way for everyone to see the bigger picture.

“Their want and desire to come Notre Dame is that it’s about being other-centered. It’s about what they can do to help others,” Notre Dame Head Coach Brian Kelley said.

“It’s important in their spiritual growth and spiritual growth at Notre Dame doesn’t mean we hold you down and make you go to Catholic Mass. Spiritual growth is the ability to be a part of our community service… to give back.”

Notre Dame will take on Clemson at 4 p.m. at AT&T Stadium Saturday.

Sports Director Chris Ryan is in Texas covering the Fighting Irish and will have updates on the team throughout the day on Saturday.
