3 children dead after Perry Co. house fire

PERRY COUNTY, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Officials say three people have died after a house fire in southern Indiana.

Fort Wayne’s NBC affiliate station WFIE reports the fire in the 1000 block of 15th Street happened early Friday morning.

Police say there were seven people in the home at the time of the fire, three of which were transported to the hospital for treatment. Their condition is not yet known.

Three others, all siblings under the age of 12, were pronounced dead at the Tell City home.

Police have identified the deceased as 11-year-old Danielle Plock-Sims, 6-year-old Thomas Plock-Sims, and 3-year-old Roseanna Plock-Sims.

Officials said 13-year-old Jonathan was able to escape by jumping through a second story window. He sustained non life-threatening injuries. The mother, Selina Applegate, is in fair condition.

Indiana Homeland Security said three IDHS/State Fire Marshal fire investigators were on scene of the fire around 4:50 a.m.
