FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — The owner of a local firearms shop said many items were stolen as part of an armed robbery Wednesday evening.
Police say they responded to B & H Firearms on Paulding Road just before 6 p.m. on reports of an armed robbery.
The shop owner said that two men entered the shop with handguns and tied him up before robbing the store and fleeing on foot. Police say the owner was able to get free from the ties.
Officers spoke with two people near the scene who said they saw two black men in black hooded sweatshirts running south through a nearby alley.
According to the police report, the robbers were able to get away with 22 guns.
The handguns, rifles and shotguns that were taken amount to a loss of more than $8,000.
Police used a K-9 unit who traveled south, following where the suspects were last seen. The K-9 then went into a residential area where he ended in the 300 block of Cox Drive.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is investigating this incident.
