Man found dead in High St. home ruled suicide

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – The Allen County Coroner has ruled a recent shooting on High Street a suicide.

The Coroner’s Office has identified the man involved in the incident 22-year-old Thomas R. Jones. The cause of death has been determined to be gunshot wound of the head and the manner of death is suicide.

Fort Wayne Police are trying to figure out how a man ended up shot to death inside a home north of downtown Fort Wayne.

Police were called to the 1000 block of High Street around 3:50 a.m. to reports of a shooting.

As officers arrived on scene, they found an adult man inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators spoke with witnesses at the scene and canvased the area to learn more about what happened.

There is no suspect information at this point and no arrests have been made.

The name of the victim and the manner of death will be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
