FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Saint Francis might have went into the game as the #1 ranked NAIA team in the country, but the 6th ranked Marian Knights left Bishop D’Arcy Stadium looking like the top team in the nation.
The Knights racked up 480 yards of total offense against USF to beat the reigning National Champions 37-28.
“We’ll bounce back,” said USF head coach Kevin Donley. “I just told them sometimes you lose the battle so you can figure out how to win the war you know.”
Leading the charge for Marian was running back Charles Salary, who accounted for 215 yards on the ground and a touchdown.
Saint Francis will look to bounce back with a win on the road next week against #17 Concordia.
