Man charged with attempted child solicitation after social media interactions

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Randolph County police arrested a wanted child molester after he attempted to meet up with two young teens who were actually investigators.

Police said that on September 18, 20-year-old Jacob C. Francisco of Ohio was arrested when he traveled to Randolph County. Francisco communicated on a social media site with two young women he believed to be 15 and 13 years of age.

But those two ‘young girls’ were actually investigators with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers say Francisco traveled to Randolph County in hopes to meet the two girls and engage in sexual acts.

Randolph County said they have previously investigated a dangerous trend where minors are meeting people online and then meeting up with them in person.

The Sheriff’s Department decided to take a proactive approach to enforcing laws on those adults who were trying to take advantage of minors in the Community.

Francisco has been charged with the following offenses: attempted child solicitation, two counts of attempted vicarious sexual gratification, attempted child molestation, attempted child exploitation, and attempted sexual misconduct with a minor.
