FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Northeast Indiana is experiencing the worst heat wave we’ve seen in nearly seven years.
Our Fort Wayne’s NBC weather team says the heat index will be on the rise to 100° to 110°, with the air temps in the low to mid 90s.
Check the current temperatures here.
With the heat picking up, we decided to see how long it would take to melt an ice cream cone on the pavement.
But then, the cellphone we were using overheated and stopped the stream.
We tried once again, and the heat continued to cause problems with the stream.
After the second failed attempt to keep the stream going, we decided to put our sky camera to good use.
It took about 15 minutes to melt completely.
